Baisha Dayuan, the Estate by the Relocated Peak Village

The estate bed of this batch stands beside the village that moved for the forest. 新高峰村 Xīngāofēng Cūn, Xinfeng – new peak – village, is where the old Gao Feng village landed in late 2020: the original sat deep in the Yinggeling rainforest at the source of the Nandu River, three hours by road from the county town in its day, and it came down whole in Hainan’s first whole-village ecological relocation, rebuilt as 59 Li-styled row villas a few kilometres from the county seat. Baisha Dayuan, the Baisha grand courtyard, is the 86-million-yuan shared-farm estate the relocation made room for: white villas and more than a hundred themed rooms on the ring tourism highway beside the village, operated under the Wyndham banner since its July 2025 trial opening.

The swap the village made is the estate’s whole story. Under a forestland-exchange-and-rebuild scheme, the old village’s 7,600 mu of core rainforest went back to nature – habitat inside the reserve’s range – while the families took about 5,000 mu of harvestable rubber in compensation and a new village beside the county seat. The books since then read like a model case: an under-forest mushroom economy run as government plus enterprise plus village collective plus farmer turned 1.06 million yuan of sales and 400,000 of profit in 2024, pushing the collective’s income past a million yuan for the first time, and on 23 May 2025 the village took a national civilized village title in the seventh round of the awards.

The estate opened in trial on 16 July 2025 and took its first overnight guests on 22 July, built by the county’s city-investment company on 25.4 mu beside the village with 86 million yuan behind it – and the operation line matters: the provincial agriculture department’s own phrase is that the Wyndham hotel group was brought in for brand-based operation, the platforms file it as the Baisha Dayuan Resort Hotel, and this article prints no Wyndham brand-line name because none is official. Eighteen plain white villas line the S-curve of a road laid with coloured pebbles in the Li Hercules motif, around a swimming pool, tea room, study, bar, children’s zone and restaurant, and the project is built to bind farmers in – thirty-odd farm households on the payroll in a year, better than 1.5 million yuan of added income by the village’s first secretary’s figure.

The counts travel on two official lines and both are printed here: the county’s publicity office put the room stock at 104 suites in July 2025, the provincial agriculture department at 106 rooms and 15 Li-styled villas a month later – the villa counts differ with them, eighteen white villas on the tourism hall’s line for the estate, and this article does not merge the two accounts into one building list. What no line disputes is the setting: the village’s own welcome is that a guest at the courtyard can stroll the surrounding tea gardens, try the county’s green-tea making and drink it where it grows.

What the Rooms Are Like

Five style families sort the room stock. The Li-styled line carries brocade patterns and, on the platform listing, a soaking tub in the king cut and private balconies on the twin and family rooms; the minimalist line runs king, twin, a family room with an outsized balcony and a suite; the wabi-sabi line pairs earth tones with those same balconies; and the children’s-theme and low-key-study cuts fill out the list, up to standalone villas for whole-family bookings. Book the style family first – the difference between a Li-styled room and a wabi-sabi one is a different holiday, not a different floor.

Practicalities

Price. At the July 2025 trial opening the manager quoted 300 to 400 yuan a night with promotional offers running; by the 1 October 2026 snapshot the platforms read from 565 yuan on Tongcheng (4.7) and Ctrip at 4.3 across 63 reviews with an opened-2025 tag. Both lines are true at their own dates. Every figure floats.

Address. 牙叉镇新高峰村红村小组 3 号 – Hongcun group 3, Xinfeng village, Yacha Town, on the ring tourism highway about five kilometres from the county town by the provincial tourism hall’s figure; phone 32529999 on the Tongcheng listing. Pin by the village name – the estate sits beside it, not in the town.

Rooms. Name the style family when booking – Li-styled with the tub, wabi-sabi with the balcony, or the family cut for children. Ask whether your rate dates from the trial-opening offers or the current ladder, because the two still differ on the platforms.

Getting there. The estate is a ring-tourism-highway stop by the province’s own definition: leave expressway S11 at the Yacha interchange, cross the county town and continue about five kilometres – navigate. From Haikou, two to three hours by road, an estimate; by bus, ride the hourly 78-yuan shuttle to Baisha town and take a taxi out. The village beside the estate supplies the daytime programme – tea-garden walks and tea-making with the families – and the rainforest the village gave up is now the view from the balconies.

Where to stay: a Li-styled king with the soaking tub if the brocade-and-tub combination is the draw, a wabi-sabi balcony room if the quiet should be styled rather than themed, and a standalone villa if the whole family travels – all at Hongcun group 3, Xinfeng village, beside the 59 villas of the village that moved for the forest.

flowcloud would say that a village which gave up three hours of remoteness for five kilometres of road has ended up selling the mountain it protected, and that the correct way to sleep here is on a balcony with the tea gardens going dark, because the forest got the village’s old ground and the village got the guests.
