金月湾站 Jīnyuèwān Zhàn, Jinyuewan station, is the second of the two high-speed stops in 东方市 Dōngfāng Shì, Dongfang City, and the only one of them that is a beach stop: it stands in 板桥镇 Bǎnqiáo Zhèn, Banqiao Town, on the city’s southern shore, an intermediate station of the 海南环岛高铁西线 Hǎinán Huándǎo Gāotiě Xīxiàn, the Hainan west-ring high-speed line, with four arrival-and-departure tracks and a 2,000-square-metre building, opened in 2015, about 34.9 kilometres south of 东方站 Dōngfāng Zhàn, Dongfang station, and 18.2 kilometres north of 尖峰站 Jiānfēng Zhàn, Jianfeng station, over in Ledong. It is about three kilometres from Banqiao’s own centre and 700 metres from the Banqiao exit of the west-line expressway, and around it lies the coast the city calls 金月湾滨海旅游度假区 Jīnyuèwān Bīnhǎi Lǚyóu Dùjiàqū, the Jinyuewan seaside tourism resort, whose main residential group is the 佳源金月湾 Jiāyuán Jīnyuèwān development. The band runs in three layers – a branded seafront hotel, a strong set of sea-view homestays and apartments, and the town’s own guesthouses – from about 120 yuan to the top of the local ladder, on a coast that sees far fewer visitors than the Sanya side.
Two houses carry the group, and both fly the same flag. 东方佳源东方索契酒店（金月湾高铁站店）, the Jiayuan Sochi Hotel at the Jinyuewan rail branch, is the front-line house of the development: read at 4.4 across 353 reviews and about 4.8 kilometres by car from the station, it sells a first-line sea view with a balcony facing the water for the sunset, and it carries family-themed rooms, an outdoor pool, a go-kart track, free laundry and free station pickup. Its companion is 东方索契海景民宿（佳源金月湾店）, the Oriental Sochi Seaview Homestay at room 313, building 5 of the Jinyuan Jinyuewan estate on 迎宾大道 Yíngbīn Dàdào, Yingbin Avenue, in Banqiao, about 4.7 kilometres from the station and about 1.23 kilometres from the resort itself: a two-star read on Trip at 9.3 out of 10 across 96 reviews from HK$120, and 4.7 across 68 on Ctrip, with a heated pool, a gym, a garden and free parking, and rooms that range from a duplex courtyard garden suite of five bedrooms, one living room and two bathrooms to a deluxe sea-view twin. The reviews say the thing that sells it, that it shares a courtyard with the five-star Sochi hotel, that the sand is three to five minutes on foot, and that the owner runs a free electric cart and meets the train. Between the two, 东方索契公寓, the Sochi apartment block, is the newest listing at 4.9 across 14 reviews and about 4.6 kilometres from the station, with mountain-view and family rooms and a public beach. The name is worth a line for anyone puzzled by a Sochi in Hainan: it is the developer’s branding rather than a reference to the Russian coast, chosen for the shoreline’s winter sun and its long sunset.
Below the Sochi pair the band is a working town’s beds. 麦格酒店, the Meige Hotel, reads 4.7 across 310 reviews about 4.6 kilometres from the station, with sunset views, sea-view rooms, free station pickup and a table-tennis room. 铂金智能酒店（东方板桥镇店）, the Platinum Intelligent Hotel at the Banqiao branch, is at number 108 板桥头北路 Bǎnqiáotóu Běilù, Banqiaotou North Road, in Banqiao village, opposite the Sinopec filling station, at 4.3 across 97 reviews from 168 yuan on Ctrip against 217 yuan on a map platform, with all-smart fittings, a cinema room, pet-friendly rooms, a card room, a tea room and a laundry, about 5.6 kilometres from the station and 5.8 kilometres towards Gancheng. Then comes the town’s own row, the October 2026 snapshot reading like a list: 东方丰成商务宾馆 at 4.6 across 4 reviews and about 3.7 kilometres from the platform, 兰河宾馆 at 4.9 across 3 and five kilometres, 东方瑞祥楼旅租 at 4.4 across 13 and 4.8 kilometres, 山發智能商务宾馆 at 3.8 across 19 and 4.6 kilometres, 东方龙源旅租 at 4.0 across 25 and 4.7 kilometres, plus 东方市山发宾馆 on 桥中路 Qiáozhōng Lù, Qiaozhong Road, at 168 yuan and 听海轩酒店 opposite the appliance market on Banqiao Road. These are town rooms rather than resort rooms, and their star labels are the platforms’ own rather than any official rating.
The coast around the station is short on crowds and long on light. The resort beach is three to five minutes from the Sochi courtyard, and the 海南花梨谷文化旅游区 Hǎinán Huālígǔ Wénhuà Lǚyóu Qū, the Hainan Hualigu rosewood valley cultural tourism area, is about 6.2 kilometres off; the 海边一号营地 Hǎibiān Yīhào Yíngdì, the Seaside Number One camp, and the 闲倚碧空 and 疏影金月 viewpoints cluster three to five kilometres away, and the old town of 感城镇 Gǎnchéng Zhèn, Gancheng Town, with its Confucian academy and its cape viewpoint, sits within about twelve kilometres. Two boundaries hold the reading together. The first is the rail: Jinyuewan station is the station for all of this, and there is no Banqiao station anywhere on the line – the town’s stop is Jinyuewan and nothing else – while 感城站 Gǎnchéng Zhàn, Gancheng station, built in 1958, is a conventional-line halt with no high-speed service. The second is the map: this is Dongfang’s coast in 板桥镇 Bǎnqiáo Zhèn, and it is a different city’s shore from the Ledong bays across the line, so the properties here are not the ones listed for Longmu or Longqi bay.
What the Rooms Are Like
Choose by where you want to be at six in the evening. The Jiayuan Sochi Hotel is the full-service option, a balcony facing the sunset and a pool downstairs; the Sochi Seaview Homestay beside it is the value version of the same courtyard, with the same walk to the sand and a kitchen in the larger suites; the Sochi apartment block is the newest and quietest of the three. The Meige and the Platinum Intelligent are ordinary rooms in a working town, one of them the deepest value in the band, and the row of town guesthouses behind them is the floor of the market. Room counts are published for none of these houses, so book by the view and the distance to the water, and confirm whether breakfast is included and whether the station pickup is still running, since the small houses advertise it and the big ones do not.
Practicalities
Price. The band is roughly 120 to 217 yuan for the small houses, with the branded hotel above that. Every figure is a snapshot that floats.
Address. Pin by the estate and the town: the Jiayuan Sochi Hotel and the Sochi Seaview Homestay and apartment in the 佳源金月湾 Jiāyuán Jīnyuèwān group on 迎宾大道 Yíngbīn Dàdào, Yingbin Avenue, in 板桥镇 Bǎnqiáo Zhèn, Banqiao Town, the Platinum Intelligent Hotel at number 108 板桥头北路 Bǎnqiáotóu Běilù, and the town guesthouses along the Banqiao streets within about five kilometres of the platform. Confirm the station-to-house distance on navigation, and treat the star labels as the platforms’ own.
Rooms. Match the room to the stop: a balcony sea-view room at the Jiayuan Sochi if the sunset is the point, a courtyard flat at the Sochi Seaview Homestay if a kitchen and HK$120 are, an ordinary room at the Meige or the Platinum Intelligent if the town is enough, and a town guesthouse if the budget is the only thing that matters. Ask for the aspect rather than a category name, since a sea-view estate can sit a kilometre back from the sand, and confirm the pickup and the breakfast.
Getting there. 金月湾站 Jīnyuèwān Zhàn, Jinyuewan station, is the band’s platform and one of the city’s two high-speed stops, standing in 板桥镇 Bǎnqiáo Zhèn, Banqiao Town, about 34.9 kilometres south of 东方站 Dōngfāng Zhàn, Dongfang station, and about three kilometres from Banqiao’s centre; the properties here sit four-and-a-half to five-and-a-half kilometres from it by the platforms, so navigate the last leg. From Jinyuewan the run to 三亚 Sānyà is about 47 yuan and to 海口东 Hǎikǒu Dōng about 106 yuan, both snapshots. Remember the two names: there is no Banqiao station on the line, and 感城站 Gǎnchéng Zhàn, Gancheng station, built in 1958, is a conventional-line halt, so the high-speed arrival for this coast is Jinyuewan. Also keep 尖峰站 Jiānfēng Zhàn, 18.2 kilometres to the south, where it belongs, over the county line in Ledong. All distances and times are snapshots to check against navigation.
