The inland bed of this batch is the county seat. 抱由镇 Bàoyóu Zhèn, Baoyou Town, is the seat of 乐东黎族自治县 Lèdōng Lí Zú Zìzhì Xiàn, Ledong Li Autonomous County, set on the 昌化江 Chānghuà Jiāng, Changhua River, an hour’s drive inland from the coast and nearly an hour from the 尖峰岭 Jiānfēnglǐng ridge, and its hotels gather on a handful of streets: 迎宾北路, 迎宾南路, 乐安路, 沿江南路 and 光明路. The band is chain and near-chain stock, a 154-room river-view house, a 77-room Vienna, a pair of local business hotels and a smart-hotel row, rooms from about 89 yuan into the mid-300s. It is the base for anyone whose Ledong trip is government business, a family visit or a first night before the coast, and it is the one stay band in the county with no sea and no bay in it.
Two houses carry the top of the band and both have an official edge. 乐东凯利柏尔假日酒店, the Caliper Holiday Hotel Ledong, belongs to the 佳捷 Jiājié hotel group and opened in 2022 with 154 rooms, the one opening-year-and-count figure in this band with a source; its address is number 220 沿江南路 Yánjiāng Nánlù on the Changhua river beside 乐东中学 Lèdōng Zhōngxué, Ledong Middle School, and it holds a first-line river view. The group’s own page reads 4.7 across 142 reviews from 316 yuan, listing a 25-square-metre superior garden-view king with breakfast from 316, a deluxe river-view room from 351 and an executive suite at 879, with breakfast at 48 yuan a head; the phone is 0898-85693333. The second is 维也纳酒店 Wéiyěnà Jiǔdiàn, the Vienna hotel at the Ledong branch and the Ledong Park branch, on 迎宾北路 Yíngbīn Běilù opposite 乐东民族文化体育广场 Lèdōng Mínzú Wénhuà Tǐyù Guǎngchǎng, the county’s culture-and-sports square: Tongcheng reads it at 4.7 from 236 yuan with mountain-view doubles, Meituan files it as an upscale four-star, an archive page gives it 77 rooms over eight floors, and it is about five minutes from 乐东汽车站 Lèdōng Qìchēzhàn, the county bus station. One caution travels with the name: a voucher list also places a Vienna at 三角路 on a different building, and this article prints that as an unresolved second address rather than a confirmed second house.
Below the two flags the band is local and cheerful. 永嘉大酒店 at number 202 乐安路 Lè’ān Lù is an upscale house at 4.7 from 365 yuan with executive mountain-view kings and executive suites with bathtubs. 昌发商务大酒店 at number 2 光明路 Guāngmíng Lù, near the county people’s hospital, opened in 2010 and was refurbished in 2020 with 46 rooms, is read as a two-star, and runs 4.2 across 261 reviews from HK$194 at the overseas agency and 8.5 to 8.7 of 10 on another archive with rates from HK$79 to 89 at different times. What this band does not have is a station, and that is the single most useful thing to know about it. 抱由镇 Bàoyóu Zhèn has no passenger rail of its own: the county’s three high-speed stops are all on the coast, and the nearest, 乐东站 Lèdōng Zhàn, is in 九所镇 Jiǔsuǒ Zhèn, not in the town. So a guest here arrives by road, up the 中线高速 Zhōngxiàn Gāosù, the central-route expressway whose Ledong stretch the county reported open in 2021, or along the G225, and the last leg from the coast is a car, with the drive time left to navigation rather than to a fixed number. The reward is a small city with the county’s own institutions at its door: the culture-and-sports square, the bus station, the middle school and the river promenade, and a price that lands well below the coast for a room that is just as clean. As a distance marker, the pottery house in 抱邱村 Bàoqiū Cūn is put at 58.5 kilometres and about an hour and nineteen minutes from 乐东站 by one platform, which is the shape of the county-seat-to-coast run without being the same address.
What the Rooms Are Like
Room counts and opening years are published for almost none of these houses, so this article prints them only where a source exists, the Caliper’s 154 rooms and 2022 opening, the Changfa’s 2010 opening, 2020 refurbishment and 46 rooms, and the Vienna’s 77 rooms over eight floors, and otherwise stays silent. Address. The band runs the county town’s streets: the Caliper at number 220 沿江南路 Yánjiāng Nánlù by the middle school (0898-85693333), the Vienna on 迎宾北路 Yíngbīn Běilù opposite the culture-and-sports square, the Yongjia at number 202 乐安路 Lè’ān Lù, the Changfa at number 2 光明路 Guāngmíng Lù, and the smart row along 迎宾南路 Yíngbīn Nánlù. Pin by the street and the house name, and treat the Vienna’s second address as unconfirmed.
Rooms. Book the aspect and the equipment rather than a brand: a river-view room at the Caliper, a mountain-view or high-floor room at the Vienna, an executive room at the Yongjia, and a smart or cinema room on the 迎宾南路 row where the price is lowest. Ask for the river side specifically, since a county-seat room can face a courtyard or a car park for the same money, and confirm whether breakfast is inside the rate, because the top houses price it separately.
Getting there. The county seat has no railway station of its own, so the last leg is a car, and the nearest platform is 乐东站 Lèdōng Zhàn in 九所镇 Jiǔsuǒ Zhèn on the 海南西环高铁 Hǎinán Xīhuán Gāotiě, the Hainan West Ring high-speed railway, opened on 30 December 2015, with 黄流站 Huángliú Zhàn and 尖峰站 Jiānfēng Zhàn the county’s other two stops on the same line and on the 三乐旅游铁路 Sānlè Lǚyóu Tiělù tourist railway from Sanya that opened on 16 November 2024. From 乐东站 the run to 三亚 Sānyà is about thirty-five minutes for 26 yuan and to Phoenix airport about twenty-six minutes for 23 yuan, both snapshots; the drive up to 抱由镇 is left to navigation because no source supports a fixed figure. By car, leave the 中线高速 Zhōngxiàn Gāosù central-route expressway, open through Ledong since 2021, or follow the G225; in town, the bus station is the hub, with the Vienna about five minutes from it and the 禾佳 at number 100 迎宾南路 663 metres from it.
