It is the district’s most convenient address and its noisiest.

The chain register is the reliable one. Rooms trade view for value – compact, clean, endlessly reproducible – and the mall below handles everything from luggage-adjacent shopping to midnight snacks. The cathedral square at the north end of the street doubles as the evening’s free entertainment; the food streets at the south end double as dinner.

The apartment register is the flexible one. Stacked floors above the retail podiums keep kitchenettes, sofa corners and the layouts that make a week of shopping or a family stop workable – with the same street noise, which is the quarter’s one honest tax. Ask for a back-facing room and the tax refunds itself.
