Chongqing is a municipality of southwest China; Yuzhong is its central district on the peninsula where the Yangtze meets the Jialing River, and Metro Line 1 runs the length of that peninsula from the river gates at Chaotianmen westwards. Three stops beyond the Jiefangbei circle the character changes: the ridge of 鹅岭 Élǐng, Eling, and the boulevard of 两路口 Liǎnglùkǒu, Lianglukou, hold a lodging band that trades on being quiet, on being cheaper than the circle, and on the timetable of the metro itself. Its logic is a station logic rather than a walking-circle logic: you arrive by train, you leave by train, and between trains you are moments from a converted printing factory, a monorail threading a building, or the direct line to the airport. Nothing here is reached by stepping out into a crowd, and that is what the rooms are sold on.

The Eling ridge is the greener half. 二厂 Èrchǎng, Testbed 2, is the old printing factory re-opened as a cultural park on 鹅岭正街 Élǐng Zhèng Jiē, Eling Zhengjie: public areas free, a rooftop viewing terrace at 20 yuan and parking at about 20 yuan a day by the platform guides’ account, all subject to the park’s own notices. Inside the park and along the street the lodgings are small and specific: 岭上壹号 Lǐngshàng Yīhào, Lingshang No.1, a 30-square-metre flat from about 325; 半山渡宿约书院 Bànshāndù Sùyuē Shūyuàn, Banshandu, at 1 Eling Zhengjie, from about 536, with mountain-view, projection river-view and duplex terrace rooms; 江上明珠 Jiāngshàng Míngzhū, Jiangshang Mingzhu, from about 525 with terrace rooms; and 泰和居 Tàihéjū, Taiheju, on 上清寺路 Shàngqīngsì Lù, Shangqingsi Road, from about 189. The free old hilltop of 鹅岭公园 Élǐng Gōngyuán, Eling Park, and the new Eling trestle – a landmark the district government’s work report counts at a governed 30,000 visitors a day – anchor the ridge. And below it at 李子坝 Lǐzǐbà, Liziba, Line 2 threads directly through a residential block, a district-government-listed sight that one property sells as a room category: a monorail-view suite from about 1,670.
The Lianglukou boulevard is the flatter half. Along 中山三路 Zhōngshān Sān Lù, Zhongsan Third Road, the belt runs from 重庆希尔顿 Chóngqìng Xī’ěrdùn, the Hilton, at 139 from about 729, through two 全季 Quánjì, Ji, hotels – one by the metro at 86 from about 971, one newer by the Crown Escalator entrance at 160 南区路 Nánqū Lù, Nanqu Road, from about 831 – to 美豪丽致 Měiháo Lìzhì, Meihao Lizhi, at 128 from about 556, and the economy end at 来希 Láixī, Laixi, from about 382 and the 张姐旅馆 Zhāngjiě Lǚguǎn, Sister Zhang’s guest house, from about 128, the cheapest confirmed bed in this piece. The same-day snapshot arithmetic is the flank’s whole argument: the mid-band here runs about 385 to 830 against the circle’s 402 to 950, roughly a third cheaper like for like, while the media guides’ low band of 160 to 340 is a sampled slice of a spread the full platform data shows running from 128 to 1,670.

The timetable argument has two parts. The first is the airport account: 两路口 Liǎnglùkǒu, Lianglukou, is where Lines 1 and 3 interchange, and Line 3 runs direct to Chongqing North station’s south square and Jiangbei airport Terminal 2, which makes this the natural flank for a late arrival or a dawn departure – the bed that costs a third less and stands one transfer-free line from the flight. The second is the gradient, which on this peninsula is never neutral: from the ridge, going into town is downhill in every sense and coming home is the climb, so the flank prices its rooms for people who make the climb once a day. The quiet comes in two kinds: the boulevard’s calm under plane trees, and the ridge’s green, where the park holds the traffic at a distance while Testbed 2 supplies the evening.
Three boundaries place the piece. Against this batch’s Jiefangbei piece: that one is a circle you walk, and this is a ridge you arrive at by metro – three stops west, three grades quieter, a third cheaper. Against the scholar’s-garden stays of Keyuan in Dongguan, covered elsewhere on this site: Keyuan sleeps inside a garden, and Eling sleeps beside a converted printing plant on a ridge, with the monorail for an alarm clock. And against the sea-view rooms of Shekou: Shekou’s windows face open water, and Eling’s face a canyon of rooftops with a railway threaded through one of the buildings – which is why the dearest room on the flank is the one watching a train.
What the Rooms Are Like
The flank sells a full spectrum and names its rooms by what they look at: simple guest-house rooms from about 128 yuan, compact standard chain rooms, small park flats around 30 square metres with projectors or terraces, and, at the top, the view-named categories – monorail-view suite, river-view room behind floor-to-ceiling glass, duplex terrace suite – because on this ridge the view is a specific thing. Exact room counts are not confirmed in government or operator sources. Three checks matter more than elsewhere: which station the address actually stands by, whether the route from the station is uphill and by how much with luggage, and whether the advertised view is ridge, river or railway – the difference between a 325-yuan flat and a 1,670-yuan suite.
Practicalities
Price. In an October 2026 platform snapshot the flank ran from about 128 to 1,670 yuan a night: economy rooms and guest houses 128 to 385, the comfort-to-premium chains 485 to 971, the park minsu from about 325, and the Liziba monorail-view suite from about 1,670. The mid-band sits roughly a third below the Jiefangbei circle’s like-for-like band at the same-day snapshot; the media band of 160 to 340 is a sampled low slice, not the spread. Every figure is a snapshot that floats.
Address. 重庆市渝中区两路口街道及上清寺一带 Zhōngqìng Shì Yúzhōng Qū Liǎnglùkǒu Jiēdào jí Shàngqīngsì Yídài, Lianglukou Subdistrict and the Shangqingsi area, Yuzhong District, Chongqing – the park addresses at 鹅岭正街 1 号 Élǐng Zhèng Jiē 1 Hào, 1 Eling Zhengjie, and along 鹅岭正街 and 李子坝正街, Eling Zhengjie and Liziba Zhengjie, the boulevard addresses at 中山三路 86 号至 139 号 Zhōngshān Sān Lù 86 Hào to 139 Hào, 桂花园路 Guìhuāyuán Lù, Guihuayuan Road, and 上清寺路 Shàngqīngsì Lù, Shangqingsi Road.
Rooms. The flank runs from a 128-yuan guest-house room to the full-service chains without a gap in the ladder; the distinctive products are the small park flats of about 30 square metres and the view-named categories of monorail-view suite, floor-to-ceiling river-view room and duplex terrace suite. Exact room counts for individual properties are not confirmed in government or operator sources, so any precise number is the platform’s own.
Getting there. Metro 鹅岭 Élǐng, Eling, on Line 1, exit 2A, is the park approach, about ten minutes on a gentle uphill by the platform’s measure; 两路口 Liǎnglùkǒu, Lianglukou, interchanges Lines 1 and 3, and Line 3 runs direct to Chongqing North station’s south square and Jiangbei airport Terminal 2. A sightseeing shuttle plies between Liziba and the park for about 6 yuan by the platform guides’ account, with the park’s own notices governing. Trains run roughly 06:30 to 23:00 with announced holiday extensions; walking times are best measured by navigation on the day.

Where to stay: a park-minsu flat from about 325 yuan if the ridge and the printing factory are the point, a boulevard chain room from about 485 to 830 if the airport line and the price are the point, and the Liziba suite from about 1,670 if watching a train thread a building from bed is, unusually, the point – because on 鹅岭与两路口 Élǐng and Liǎnglùkòu, Eling and Lianglukou, the amenity is the timetable, and the timetable is free.
flowcloud would say that this is the only lodging band in the district whose best room is the one facing a railway, and that the correct way to sleep on the flank is one transfer-free Line 3 ride from a dawn flight, at a third off the circle, with the monorail for an alarm clock.
