Chongqing is a municipality of southwest China, and 沙坪坝区 Shāpíngbà Qū Shapingba is its north-west district, whose western end the ground lifts into 歌乐山 Gēlè Shān, Gele Mountain, before running out into the flats of the far west. The beds keep the same gradient. On the mountain’s lanes, farm households have rented rooms beside their orchards and kitchens for as long as anyone has climbed here on weekends; on the lower slopes, a village guesthouse does the slow-stay formula with design and coffee; and on the flats below, a resort cluster built since 2020 puts indoor ski slopes and a Ferris wheel within a child’s walk of the hotel lifts. This is the district’s countryside register – the quietest in the batch.

The farm stay is the mountain’s oldest bed and still its default. The surviving houses read as a single genre – orchard rows, courtyard tables, rooms above the family kitchen at budget rates that rarely bother the booking platforms; their reference prices are too thin to quote, so none is printed here. Weekend families climb for the woods and for the chicken courtyards along the mountain road, whose dish keeps its own article on this site, and a night on the slope turns that day trip into a slow morning among the trees. The district’s places of remembrance on the lower slopes have their own article on this site; from a bed’s point of view they are simply geography, passed with respect in a single line.
The new layer is the village house. 与山·AMORE Yǔshān AMORE stands at 17 Shimenkan, 金刚村 Jīngāng Cūn, Jingang Village, on the lower slopes, and its page reads like the genre’s upgrade: a cafe, a tea room, orchard picking in season, Italian dishes among its offerings, and a Western set breakfast at 38 yuan a head by its own policy page – single-source details, checked October 2026. The practicalities matter as much as the prettiness: check-in runs 15:00 to 21:00 with password entry arranged after booking, free private parking sits at the door, and two policies a foreign reader should know – mainland Chinese identity cards only, and no pets. Confirm the arrival window by message.

The flats are the newest register. 重庆融创文旅城 Chóngqìng Róngchuàng Wénlǚchéng, the Sunac Cultural Tourism City, opened in September 2020 on the western flats – a press account at the time – with an amusement town, the 雪世界 Xuě Shìjiè, Snow World, indoor ski dome, the 海世界 Hǎi Shìjiè, Sea World, aquarium and a mall, plus a hotel cluster the same account counted at some 700 rooms, a single-source figure, checked October 2026. Around it the platforms list a family band: the 永乐半山 Yǒnglè Bànshān hotel on 文广大道 Wénguǎng Dàdào, Wenguang Avenue, with panda-themed family rooms per its listing, a Vienna-brand house and economy chains on 西桂路 Xīguì Lù, Xigui Road, rooms from about 150 to 300 yuan in the October 2026 snapshot. Metro Line 1’s 微电园 Wēidiànyuán, Weidianyuan, station puts the cluster within a few hundred metres’ walk. Every figure is a snapshot that floats.
Three boundaries close the map. Against the old town’s inns: Ciqikou books a thousand-year street, and its article keeps that story. Against the hub’s business beds: Sanxia Square sells the timetable, and this slope has no timetable to sell. And within the west itself the three registers – farm stay, village house, resort flat – are one itinerary’s three answers: the orchard morning, the courtyard lunch and the snow-dome afternoon can end in any of the three beds. Wartime residences dot the western villages too – their existence noted, their stories kept for the travel columns.
Practicalities
Price. Farm stays quote budget rates in person or by phone, rarely on the platforms – no figure is printed for want of a reliable source. The village house quotes through its own page; no snapshot was obtained at writing. The resort-flat band ran from about 150 to 300 yuan in the October 2026 snapshot, with the panda-roomed upscale house above it. Holiday weeks fill family rooms first. Prices fluctuate seasonally; check current rates, and treat every figure as a snapshot that floats.
Address. 重庆市沙坪坝区歌乐山 Zhòngqìng Shì Shāpíngbà Qū Gēlè Shān, Geleshan, Shapingba District, Chongqing – the village house at 17 Shimenkan, Jingang Village, Geleshan Subdistrict, and the resort cluster around 文广大道 Wénguǎng Dàdào and 西桂路 Xīguì Lù, near the 微电园 Weidianyuan metro station.
Rooms. Three stocks: simple farm-stay rooms above family kitchens, a designer village house with its own cafe and tea room, and the resort band of chain rooms and themed family rooms. The village house keeps gate hours – check-in 15:00 to 21:00, password entry after booking, mainland-ID guests only, no pets – so read its policy page first. Exact room counts are not confirmed in government or operator sources, so any precise figure is the platform’s own.
Getting there. Metro Line 1 to 微电园 Wēidiànyuán, Weidianyuan, for the resort flats, a walk of a few hundred metres by the listings; the mountain itself is a taxi or car up a winding road whose bends deserve daylight. Ciqikou lies roughly twenty minutes away by road by the map tools’ reckoning – recheck before setting out. The village house advertises free private parking at the door.

A western day offers two endings. The mountain version: morning among the orchard rows, lunch at a farmhouse table, afternoon on the forest steps, and the evening back in the village courtyard while the birds close the accounts. The resort version: the same orchard morning, then the ski dome’s white slope after lunch, the Ferris wheel at dusk, and hotpot in the mall while the children re-run the day at volume. Both end in beds the district prices like its countryside – the west of Shapingba is where the city keeps its farms, and the rooms have never quite agreed to become a resort town. That stubbornness is the amenity; book it while it still answers the phone.
flowcloud would say that the western slope is the only place in Chongqing where a guest can pick fruit at breakfast and ski indoors by tea, and that the correct way to sleep here is in whichever bed ends the day’s walking – the farmhouse if the orchard won, the village courtyard if the mountain did, the resort flat if the children did.
Where to stay: the village house in Jingang Village if the slope itself is the destination, a farm stay on the orchard lanes if the kitchen and the price are the point, and the resort-flat band from about 150 to 300 yuan if the snow dome holds the children – because on Shapingba’s west the beds are the countryside’s own spare rooms.
