Glass Towers Over the Lake: Staying at Jinji Lake

正文：金鸡湖住宿 Jīnjī Hú Zhùsù the Jinji Lake stays are Suzhou’s modern counterweight to the old town – a ring of glass towers, international chains and serviced apartments around the lake in Suzhou Industrial Park, with the Orion-shaped Gate to the East framing the view. Business travellers fill the mid-week rooms; weekends bring shoppers, the lakeside promenade and the Ferris-wheel crowds.
The lake does the work after dark. From an upper-floor room the towers reflect in a straight line of light, the promenade runs round the water, and the old city’s low grey roofs sit the better part of a metro ride away. It is a deliberately different Suzhou from the canal quarter.
The Stays
The workhorse tier is the business-chain blocks along the park avenues: efficient twins, desks sized for laptops, and metro access at the door – the predictable pick for a work trip.
The character tier is the design-led boutique floors near the lakeside art and retail strip: lake-facing rooms, open bathrooms and a bar with a view – the style pick without the flagship price.
The comfort tier is the five-star towers with club lounges and full lake frontage: atrium lobbies, big breakfast halls and suites above the light show – the splurge that still prices below Shanghai for the same polish.
