Xuebaoshan (雪宝山, xuěbǎo shān) is a resort ridge on the Qinba mountain crest (秦巴山脊, qínbā shānjǐ) reaching 2,626 metres, and its lodges are the high, cool counterpoint to Kaizhou’s lake below. Come up for air, stars, and a temperature drop you feel the moment you step from the car.
The cabins (木屋, mùwū) are timber lodges with underfloor heating (地暖, dìnuǎn) and stargazing windows (观星窗, guānxīng chuāng), so the cold outside becomes the show rather than the problem. Nights are the point: lie warm and watch the ridge sky instead of a ceiling.
Above the cabins lies Maying meadow (马营草甸, mǎyíng cǎodiàn), a sea-of-clouds grassland where music camping runs through the season. Wake to a cloud sea rolling over the crest, then wander the meadow before the day warms — it is the kind of view that justifies the climb on its own.
