The resort bed of this batch faces due west. 龙沐湾国际旅游度假区, the Longmu Bay international tourism resort, lies in 佛罗镇 Fúluó Zhèn, Foluo Town, in 乐东黎族自治县 Lèdōng Lí Zú Zìzhì Xiàn, Ledong Li Autonomous County, on the county’s northern coast between the Danshui river and the Baisha river, with the Beibu Gulf to the west and a planned area of 34.16 square kilometres by the encyclopaedia account. It is the northernmost of the county’s three west-facing bays – 龙沐湾, 龙腾湾 and 龙栖湾 – and the one developed first: the developer broke ground in November 2009 as a Hainan-Jiangsu economic-cooperation project, phase one carried a Wyndham, a Kempinski and a hotel nicknamed the octopus among its seven names, and the beds that trade today are the five-star tower now under refurbishment and the apartment blocks behind it. Rooms run from about 73 yuan in Foluo town up to the top of the county’s price ladder, and the tower at the top is not taking guests this season.

The tower is both the headline and the trap. 龙沐湾温德姆至尊豪廷大酒店, the Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Hainan Longmu Bay, opened on 13 July 2013 under Wyndham management, and the encyclopaedia account fits it with 362 rooms and suites across 108 mu and 44,000 square metres of building, five themed restaurants, three outdoor pools, a 1,080-square-metre pillarless ballroom, eight function rooms and 260 parking spaces, with a private courtyard and a balcony hot-spring pool in the rooms; the platform pages still file it as the county’s top-ranked hotel at 4.8 across 400 Ctrip reviews. What those pages do not settle is whether anyone sleeps there now: a recruitment page for the property says the hotel will reopen after a full renovation in October 2026, a hospitality-data platform still marks it closed, and the scenic-area page reads temporarily suspended – so this article carries the house as closed for a full renovation and scheduled to reopen around October 2026, to be confirmed before booking. The room list travels with a caveat of its own: one platform’s area table sums to 168 keys across 42-square-metre standards, 98-square-metre executive rooms, 86-square-metre studios and 210-square-metre one-bedroom suites, against the 362 the encyclopaedia gives, and both are printed here without being merged. The archive phone is 0898-85598888. Two further phase-one names, the Kempinski villa hotel and the octopus-shaped Caesar Palace, appear in the 2009 project list and in no operating source, so they are printed here as plans rather than as doors.
The apartments do the volume, and that is where most of this band’s beds are. Phase one’s 温泉海景公寓, the hot-spring sea-view apartment blocks, have largely been let as serviced flats, and the October 2026 snapshot reads as a ladder: 季筑度假公寓 at three stars and 4.6 across 212 reviews from 160 yuan on Ctrip against 216 on Tongcheng, with a shared hot-spring pool, a private beach and a children’s area; 三只熊度假公寓 in block G10 of the same hot-spring sea-view estate; 洋昇度假公寓 in the Guoxin Longmu Bay compound; the 途家斯维登度假公寓 at three stars; and the 福安温泉海景酒店, a three-star on the Fu’an group’s plot. Behind them stands Foluo town’s economy band, which is the floor of the whole coast: 伯豪智选假日酒店 on Foluo Avenue at two stars and 4.7 across 670 reviews from 156 yuan, 東誠商务宾馆 on the Haiyu west line at 89, 吉祥星田园酒店 at 4.8 and 107, 仙境假日酒店 at 4.8 and 100 with pets welcome, 鸿运公寓 at 73 and 新坡花园酒店 at 170. The travel-blog line that calls Longmu Bay a rent trough, with a sea-view flat on a long let at roughly 1,200 to 1,700 yuan a month, is a mood rather than a rate and is printed here as one. Flats of this kind are the honest budget answer to a five-star coast: a kitchen, a washing machine and a beach at the end of a compound road.

Two descriptions of the bay need handling before anyone books on them. The encyclopaedia’s marketing lines call this China’s only west-facing sunset beach and Hainan’s first Spanish-style design hotel, and the hotel’s own copy names a 49-degree spring vent, but this article keeps to what holds: the resort faces due west across the Beibu Gulf, so the sun sets straight into the water, and the water piped to the pools comes from a hot-spring field rather than a town supply. The bay’s amusement park, the Longmu Bay seaside park that opened in February 2021, had its operating company’s registration cancelled in May 2025 by the business-registry account, so it is not sold here as a going concern. What stands is the address itself – a west-facing shore, a long grey beach, the island scenic highway running behind it, and a resort band that has been selling the same stretch of coastline since 2009, with the county’s usual mix of a stalled five-star and a working apartment trade.
What the Rooms Are Like
Choose by what is actually open, not by the starred name. The Wyndham’s stock, when it returns, is a resort tower with courtyards, balcony spring pools and a ballroom underneath; until then the live inventory is the apartment band, where a one-, two- or three-bedroom flat with a kitchen is the standard unit and the price tracks the view and the block rather than a brand. The Foluo town houses are ordinary two-star rooms with a bed, a kettle and a car park, and they are the cheapest way to sleep within ten minutes of the water. Room counts are published for almost none of the apartment houses, so ask for the floor and the aspect – an upper floor facing the gulf is the difference the money buys here, and a courtyard view is not the sea.
Practicalities
Price. On 2 October 2026 the snapshot read: the Wyndham has no live rate while closed, with the reopening targeted for October 2026; the 季筑 apartments from 160 yuan on Ctrip against 216 on Tongcheng; and the Foluo town band from 73 yuan at 鸿运公寓 up through 東誠 at 89, 仙境假日 at 100, 吉祥星田园 at 107, 伯豪智选 at 156 and 新坡花园 at 170. Long-let flats run about 1,200 to 1,700 yuan a month in the travel-blog line, which is a mood rather than a rate. Every figure is a snapshot that floats.
Address. The band addresses itself by the bay and the town: the Wyndham and the apartment blocks inside the 龙沐湾国际旅游度假区 in 佛罗镇 Fúluó Zhèn, the economy row along Foluo Avenue and the Haiyu west line, and the archive phone for the tower is 0898-85598888. Pin by the compound name and the bay road; the resort is its own address and the town is ten minutes inland.
Rooms. Buy what is open: a serviced flat with a kitchen in the hot-spring sea-view blocks if self-catering matters, a courtyard or upper-floor apartment if the aspect matters, and an ordinary town room if the bed is all that is needed. Ask about the spring water and the pool before booking, since some blocks share a pool and some do not, and confirm that the house you have booked is not one of the shuttered phase-one names.
Getting there. Ledong sits on the 海南西环高铁 Hǎinán Xīhuán Gāotiě, the Hainan West Ring high-speed railway, and 尖峰站 Jiānfēng Zhàn, Jianfeng station, is the one that serves this coast: it stands in 佛罗镇 Fúluó Zhèn, Foluo Town, within about 7.5 kilometres and ten minutes of the resort by the platform snapshot, and it opened with the west ring on 30 December 2015. Do not confuse it with 尖峰北站 Jiānfēngběi Zhàn, Jianfeng North station, which is a different station in 尖峰镇岭头村 Jiānfēng Zhèn Lǐngtóu Cūn, Lingtou village in Jianfeng Town, opened as the terminus of the 三乐旅游铁路 Sānlè Lǚyóu Tiělù, the Sanya-Ledong tourist railway, on 16 November 2024. From Sanya the tourist railway and the west ring both reach this coast, with 乐东站, 黄流站 and 尖峰站 the three Ledong stops on the new line; by car, leave the 环岛高速 G98 at the Longmu Bay interchange and you are on the bay road. By air the resort is about one to one and a half hours from 三亚凤凰国际机场 Sānyà Fènghuáng Guójì Jīchǎng, Phoenix airport, by the house’s own two figures, so navigate rather than trust a single number. All distances and times are snapshots to check against navigation.

Where to stay: a serviced sea-view flat in the 温泉海景公寓 blocks if self-catering and the sunset are the point, the refitted Wyndham if its October-2026 reopening is confirmed in time for the trip, and an ordinary room in Foluo town if 73 to 170 yuan is the whole budget – all in the 龙沐湾国际旅游度假区 at 佛罗镇 Fúluó Zhèn, on Ledong’s west-facing coast.
flowcloud would say that a coast which has been selling the same sunset since 2009 has learned to do it from behind a kitchen counter as well as from a five-star balcony, and that the correct way to sleep here is in an upper-floor flat with the doors open, because the west-facing bay gives its best light to whoever is still awake when the tower’s lights go down.
