Beds in the Fields: Regiment Town Inns of the Caijiahu Road
团场灯火连阡陌,一宿便知稼穑难 Tuánchǎng dēnghuǒ lián qiānmò, yī xiù biàn zhī jiàsè nán – Regiment-town lamps reach across the fields; one night teaches what the harvest costs
正文:团场周边住宿 Tuánchǎng Zhōubiān Zhùsù regiment-town stays spread along the farm roads south of 五家渠市 Wǔjiāqú Shì Wujiaqu City – the guesthouses, workers’ hotels and veterans’ inns of the settlement towns built to run the reclamation plain. Staying here is the honest version of farm tourism: the town square holds the evening market, the machinery yards hum with the season, and the inn keeper knows the cotton report the way a city concierge knows the theater listings.

The inns carry their history in the fittings. Radiator heat clanks through buildings that went up with the brigade headquarters; wide corridors take the dust of the fields in stride; and the town-center guesthouses keep big maps of the regiment’s land on the lobby wall – useful, because the roads out of town all look alike at dawn. Rooms are big, plain and immaculate; twin beds outnumber doubles by design; and the water runs hot exactly when the fields come in for the night.
Book around the season. Harvest weeks fill every bed with crews and truckers – travelers are welcome but should reserve; spring planting and the orchard bloom are quieter and the innkeepers have time to talk; and winter turns the towns into the year’s stillest places, with snow on the module stacks and the heating plant humming like a lullaby.
The Stays
The town-center tier is the guesthouse opposite the regiment square: wide twin rooms, radiator heat, lobby maps and a desk that doubles as the informal bus-timetable office – the practical base for the whole farm-road grid.

The workers’-hotel tier sits by the machinery yards: sturdy beds, industrial showers, canteen breakfast at six, and a wall of harvest-team photos going back forty years – plain rooms for people who measure days in hectares, and honest with it.
The courtyard tier hides behind the poplar rows on the town edge: a farmhouse inn with grape trellises, kettle tea on arrival, and rooms the farm families themselves use for reunion weekends – the warmest pick, and the first to fill in season.
