The 淡竹 Dànzhú valley lodges trade access for silence: stream-run gardens, raft put-ins within walking distance, and a night sky thick enough to restart star photography. The county town keeps the chains and the bus station, and the 高铁 gāotiě high-speed rail station puts Hangzhou two hours closer than any map of the last decade admits.
