Start with the boundary, because it moved after every map of this place was printed. The 统景温泉风景区 Tǒngjǐng Wēnquán Fēngjǐngqū, Tongjing Hot Spring Scenic Area, stands on the 御临河 Yùlín Hé, Yulin River, 30 kilometres from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, and belonged to 渝北区 Yúběi Qū, Yubei District, until 7 November 2025. On that date the municipal government abolished Yubei and 江北区 Jiāngběi Qū, Jiangbei, and created 两江新区 Liǎngjiāng Xīnqū, Liangjiang New Area over their ground, while the five northern towns of the old Yubei – 大湾 Dàwān, Dawan, 统景 Tǒngjǐng, Tongjing, 大盛 Dàshèng, Dasheng, 兴隆 Xīnglóng, Xinglong and 茨竹 Cízhú, Cizhu – went to 北碚区 Běibèi Qū, Beibei District. The spring is now a Beibei address, and its booking pages still print the old one, so check it before you pay.

The water is the reason the place exists and the reason the geography is what it is. A tributary of the Yulin cuts through 铜锣山 Tóngluó Shān, Tongluo Mountain, to make 温塘峡 Wēntáng Xiá, the Warm Pond Gorge, and the resort sits in it. The gorge was once called Bucket Well Gorge, and both it and the spring’s older name were named among the Twelve Sights of Bayu. This is a national AAAA site and a nationally rated five-star spring, combining two waters: a calcium-sulphate hot spring with high flow and high temperature, and a calcium-bicarbonate cold spring at about 20 degrees, of which twenty-five sources are the rare kind. One ticket covers forty-eight soaking pools, saunas, a fish spa, a wave pool, a swimming pool, a hot-water park, a snack and a towel.
The resort also runs a gorge boat and a kayak stretch on the water above the pools, and a cave with a fixed admission of its own, so a two-night booking is the minimum that lets you use the valley and the water without rushing either. That matters because the resort’s day is shaped unlike any other hot spring in the city: the pools are quietest in mid-afternoon and again first thing in the morning, while the hours between ten at night and midnight are the busiest of all. Plan around those two windows and spend the rest of the day on the gorge.

The lodging splits into a hotel band and a package band, and the package band is the one worth booking. The hotels on the approach road and inside the scenic area run in October 2026 booking-page terms from roughly 160 to 630 yuan for a room, an area band rather than any property’s rate. The resort’s own packages are clearer and better value: a 山居 Shānjū, Mountain Abode, series at 488 yuan a room, a 林涧 Línjiàn, Forest Gully, series at 588, and then the bundles – a two-adult-one-child Mountain Abode package with one hot-spring ticket from 888, a Forest Gully multi-use package from 1,080, and a Forest Gully package combining the spring with the gorge from 1,380. Breakfast and ticket are inside those numbers. Private villa baths, 私密汤苑别墅 Sīmì Tāngyuàn Biéshù, are sold separately.
The single most useful sentence on this page is the resort’s own advice: book three days ahead in the winter peak, and ten days ahead for Friday to Sunday. It is worth repeating in the price notes below, because it is the difference between the room you want and the room that is left, and this is one accommodation market where the weekend rate is not a discount opportunity but a queue. The single-use package is worth more than it looks, because the ticket covers forty-eight pools and a water park that no day-pass queue gets you into twice.
Practicalities
Price. Two bands, both measured off booking pages and the resort’s own site in October 2026, and both describing the area rather than any single property. Rooms on the approach road and inside the scenic area run roughly 160 to 630 yuan. The package band is the one to book against: a Mountain Abode room at 488 and a Forest Gully room at 588, with ticket-and-breakfast packages from 888 for two adults and one child on the single-use Mountain Abode deal, from 1,080 on the multi-use Forest Gully deal and from 1,380 with the gorge. The resort prints its standard adult ticket at 198 yuan and sells it online most days at 98 to 118, the weekend figure being the higher one.
Address. The spring is at 重庆市北碚区统景镇景泉路 66 号, Beibei District, Tongjing Town, Jingquan Road 66 – Beibei since 7 November 2025, and Yubei on the way your booking page still says. The 30-kilometre approach runs from 重庆江北国际机场, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, an easy drive off the motorway.
Rooms. A room in the hotel band close to the gate, a Mountain Abode or Forest Gully room inside the resort, a package adding the ticket and breakfast, or a private villa bath, the only genuinely different room here. Ask which side the room faces: the valley rooms are quiet, those above the entry and the car park are not, and at night that matters more than the two series.
Getting there. There is no rail station and no metro. From the city’s northern coach station a shuttle on the neighbouring-province expressway runs from 06:00 to 18:00 every half hour at 16 yuan a head. Driving is about fifty minutes from the city centre and thirty from the airport, which is why the airport is the nearest large node and why weekend traffic is the thing to plan around. The booking advice belongs here too: three days ahead in winter, ten at the weekend.

A weekend here has a shape the city does not have. Saturday: check in early if you can, take the ticket in the afternoon because the pools are quietest at three, and do one long soak rather than the forty-eight-pool circuit, which is a thing to do once. Evening is the only part of the day the resort is genuinely full, and it is full of the same people who are all in the water. Sunday morning is the second good window, and the one most people miss because they are packing. Then the gorge, the boat or the kayak above the pools, and the drive back, which on a Sunday afternoon is the worst hour of the week here.
flowcloud would say that Tongjing is the only hot spring in this batch that belongs to a different district than the one it is filed under, and that the correct way to book it is to book the package rather than the room, because on a boundary that moved last November the ticket is the reason to come and the address is the thing to double-check.
Where to stay: the package band – Mountain Abode or Forest Gully with breakfast and the ticket included – if you have come for the water, because it is cheaper than a room plus a ticket bought separately; a hotel-band room on the approach road if you need a car park and a short walk to the gate; and a private villa bath if the point is a bath rather than a pool, booked well ahead because it goes first. Check that the page says Beibei.
