Night Mooring Wushan (夜泊巫山) is the county’s flagship stay and the No.1 on the Yangtze-Three-Gorges local-character hotel list: a four-star property at about 1088 yuan a night, built as a courtyard compound (四合院) inside Ningjiang Ford Park (宁江渡公园), Longmen Street, tel 023-57618666. The concept is the old Yangtze lodge reimagined — a walled courtyard, rooms facing the water, and the river as the compound’s front garden. In a county of boat cruises and cliff views, it is the stay that is itself the attraction.
The courtyard’s morning is its own show — the river in first light with the gorge beyond, before the cruise boats start. Locals bring visiting family here for exactly that courtyard breakfast view, and treat it as the county’s statement room. If the rate is beyond the budget, the honest fallback is the riverfront homestay band, which buys the same river without the courtyard.
