Business towers and holiday blocks share the shoreline here, and rates run noticeably softer than the beach districts for rooms that often look at the same water.

The position does the work. From a Xugou base, the causeway to Liandao Island starts minutes away, the port quarter’s seafood markets are around the corner, and the mountains of Yuntai rise behind the blocks. Guests split their days between beach and trails without ever changing hotels.

The seafront tier is the holiday towers along the promenade: bigger rooms, water-view windows, and weekend prices that still undercut the island’s resorts.

The business tier is the mid-range hotels near the terminals: functional twins, fast check-ins, and the fish markets within walking distance – the pick for a seafood-first itinerary.

The value tier is the older local properties off the main road: plain but honest rooms at the district’s lowest rates, favoured by long-stay workers and practical travellers.
