Sleep Under the Cliffs: Stays Around Yandang Mountain

The cliff-side guesthouses are the reason to book ahead: upper rooms catch the rock faces changing color at dusk, and a few terraces look straight up 大龙湫 Dàlóngqiū Dalongqiu’s gorge. Village-center stays trade views for logistics – the bus stop, the noodle shops and the night market are all within a lantern-lit stroll.

Mornings start before the tour buses: fog lifts off the valley, the shuttles fill at the terminal, and guests who walked out the door at seven have the first gorge boardwalks to themselves. The village keeps tea houses for the midday gap between morning gorge and night tour.
