Gongtan’s riverside inns (龚滩临江客栈) are the old town’s homestay layer: the Yang family inn (杨家客栈) and the “Misty-Rain Gongtan” (烟雨龚滩) among them, at about 200–400 yuan a night. The product is the window — the river-facing room with the Wujiang (推窗见乌江) in full view, which is the whole reason the town’s old street is worth sleeping on rather than visiting.
The river-facing room is the premium and the slope-facing room is the discount — the inns sell the same street at two prices by which way the window looks. Book the sunset session of the boat and sleep on the street; the morning belongs to the residents again.
