Kangjia Village (亢家寨, Kàngjiāzhài) is the county’s newest graded attraction — 3A, graded September 2025, ticketed at 20 yuan in both seasons — built at Xingtian Village, Dong’an town, the same village address as Kangu Valley. Where the gorge is the horizontal experience, Kangjia Village is the vertical one: a mountaintop complex of stone terraces and viewing platforms reached by a long climb, built to put visitors above the cloud line and looking back over the Daba range.
The attraction’s youth is its story. Graded in September 2025, it is the freshest infrastructure on the county’s tourist map: new stonework, new platforms, a lighting scheme for evening views, and ticket pricing deliberately set at the county’s most accessible level. For a county whose other nature products are free, 20 yuan for a purpose-built high lookout is the local bet that visitors will pay for the queue to a view.
The climb is the visit — the stone steps are long and the platforms are spaced for the photographs, so allow the better part of a morning. Because it shares Xingtian Village with Kangu Valley, the natural pairing is the gorge in the morning and the lookout in the afternoon, both within the same valley system.
