Qiānyě yī chǎng, shíyá mǎn dì; xià kàn huāhǎi, dōng wò xuěyuán. — One Qianye field, stone sprouts filling the ground; flowers to see in summer, snow to lie on in winter.
The Qianye Grassland (千野草场, Qiānyě Cǎochǎng) is a 4A-rated (September 2016) karst grassland at Yankou, Yuchi town — 45 yuan in both seasons — where the meadow grows over the region’s limestone, so the grass is studded with 石芽 (stone sprouts), the exposed karst pinnacles that push through the turf. The area runs a camping base and a four-season register: flower sea in summer, meadow in autumn, and a ski field in winter. It is the county’s horizontal product, the counterpart to the forest heights of Dafengbao.

The stone sprouts are the karst showing through. In this limestone country, the surface water dissolves the rock into a pavement of sharp pinnacles and gaps; where soil accumulates between them, grass grows — so the meadow is a green field pocked with stone, a landscape that is neither pure grassland nor pure rock forest. The camping base sits on this ground, and the four-season pitch follows the grass: flowers in the warm months, snow on the same field in the cold.

The grassland’s cool is its summer product — the plateau elevation keeps it comfortable when the basin does not, and the flower sea is the season’s draw. The winter ski field turns the same meadow into the county’s snow product, which is why the flat 45-yuan price reads as a year-round ticket. The camping base is the overnight register; book the weekends ahead in season.

flowcloud would say that the county’s grassland is half rock and all green — and that the same field is a flower sea in July and a ski slope in January.
