重庆三峡移民纪念馆 (Chóngqìng Sānxia Yímín Jìniànguǎn) stands in Wanzhou and is China’s only national first-class museum dedicated to the million-strong Three Gorges resettlement. It tells the story of the mass relocation forced by the dam and the reservoirs that reshaped life along the Yangtze.

Inside, a 1:1 restored migrant ship (复原 migrant ship) anchors the displays, letting visitors walk the decks that carried families away from flooded hometowns. Around it, a VR reconstruction of old towns brings the submerged streets back into view.

Entry is free, but a visit needs advance booking through the museum’s official WeChat account, and the halls are closed on Mondays. From the rooftop terrace the Yangtze and the Wanzhou skyline open out below — a fitting frame for a museum built on the consequences of the rising water.
