Three Gorges Pinghu Riverfront

三峡平湖旅游区 (Sānxia Pínghú tourism belt) is Wanzhou’s riverside leisure belt along the calm, dammed Yangtze — the “peaceful lake” (平湖) the name refers to. It ties together the 滨江路 (Bīnjiāng) promenade, the night-cruise wharf, and a stairway that drops from the old town straight to the water.

The 滨江路 (Bīnjiāng) promenade runs free and open all day, a flat walk above the still reservoir water. At the 十七码头 (Shíqī mǎtou) wharf a night cruise leaves for about 65 yuan per person, showing the lit riverfront from the water after dark.

Inland, the 望江大梯道 (Wàngjiāng dà tīdào) stairway drops from the old town to the Yangtze in about 331 steps over roughly 300 metres — a textbook example of Wanzhou’s 8D mountain-city stair geometry. It is free and open all day, like the rest of the belt.

What the Locals Know

The whole belt is free and open all day; only the Shíqī mǎtou night cruise costs, at about 65 yuan per person. The Wàngjiāng dà tīdào is free too — roughly 331 steps over about 300 metres — so wear easy shoes if you plan to walk it down to the river. All checked October 2026.

flowcloud would say that the Pinghu riverfront is where Wanzhou’s flat water, lit cruise, and a 331-step stairway all meet at the Yangtze’s edge. All checked October 2026.

Where to find it: Follow the riverside 滨江路 (Bīnjiāng) promenade through Wanzhou’s waterfront; the Shíqī mǎtou cruise wharf lies along it, and the Wàngjiāng dà tīdào descends from the old town down to the same river line. All checked October 2026.
