Xishan Park and the West Mountain Bell Tower

西山公园 (Xīshān Gōngyuán) and the 西山钟楼 (Xīshān Zhōnglóu) sit on an old hilltop above the Yangtze in Wanzhou. The 1937 bell tower is counted as one of the Yangtze’s three great bell towers (长江三大钟楼), and the park around it is a long-standing local spot for a sunset or night view.

The park itself is a quiet, older hilltop green space laid out above the river, easy to wander between the trees and the terraces. It keeps the unhurried feel of a neighbourhood park rather than a staged attraction.

Climbing the bell tower costs a small entry fee of about 5 yuan, and from the top the Yangtze and the city lights spread out below. Locals treat it as a gentle sunset and night-view point — high enough for the panorama, close enough to reach from the old town on foot.
