Yǐn yán: Dì fù yī xiàn, quán luò qiān xún; qiáo wài yǒu qiáo, tiān wài yǒu tiān. — One seam in the earth, a waterfall falling a thousand feet; a bridge beyond the bridge, sky beyond the sky.
Longshui Gorge (龙水峡地缝, Lóngshuǐxiá Dìfèng) is a “ground fissure” canyon — the karst’s other signature form, where the earth has split open along a fault rather than collapsed into arches. It sits beside Baiguo Village on County Road 787 in Xiannvshan town, a few kilometres from Fairy Mountain, and is almost always visited on the same ticket logic as the Three Bridges. The gorge is narrow, deep, and damp; the 银河飞瀑 (Galaxy Flying Waterfall) drops down the fissure wall somewhere near the end of the walk.

Where the Three Bridges are about absence — a mountain range dissolved away — the fissure gorge is about presence: two walls of limestone still standing, pressed close, with a bright seam of sky between them. The path descends by stair and boardwalk along the fissure floor; elevators and sightseeing carts handle the vertical logistics at each end, which is why the ticket is sold as a package rather than a bare entry.

The gorge is the coolest walk in Wulong in summer — genuinely cool, the way a cave is cool, because for much of the route you are in permanent shade with water falling somewhere overhead. Wear shoes with grip: the boardwalks are wet year-round and the stone is polished by the same water that makes the waterfall. Photography here is a lens problem, not a light problem — bring something wider than your phone’s main camera or accept photographing the sky seam instead of the walls.

flowcloud would say that the Three Bridges are what you photograph and the fissure is what you remember — one is a cathedral, the other is its cellar.
Practicalities
- Rating: 4A (graded April 2020)
- Tickets: 105 / 85 yuan — this is the package rate including entry, elevator and sightseeing cart (旺/淡)
- Getting there: same Xiannvshan hub as Fairy Mountain; the gorge entrance is a short taxi hop from the town cluster (checked October 2026, subject to change)
- Time needed: 2–2.5 hours; the descent is the slow half
- Pair it with: Tiansheng Three Bridges — the standard one-day Wulong core loop runs gorge in the morning, bridges in the afternoon (or the reverse in peak season)
