Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park

Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park

The mountain rises straight out of the beach, and when the clouds sit low on the ridge you can see why the film chose it — a rainforest jutting up directly behind the most expensive beachfront in Sanya, with the whole bay laid out at your feet.

Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park

亚龙湾热带天堂森林公园 (Yàlóng Wān Rèdài Tiāntáng Sēnlín Gōngyuán) is the forested massif that stands behind 亚龙湾, and it is the place in Sanya to trade the beach for altitude. It became famous as the main filming location of the film If You Are the One 2 (非诚勿扰2), which shot its cliff-top villa scenes here, and it has been a fixture of the Sanya itinerary ever since. It is a genuine tropical rainforest experience — jungle paths, a suspension bridge over a ravine, and a glass walkway hanging off a mountain — with the best full view of the crescent bay anywhere.

What It Is

A 4A-rated rainforest park spread over the mountain ridge that separates the 亚龙湾 resort strip from the interior. Because the mountain drops straight to the sea, the park’s viewpoints give you a near-vertical shot down onto the bay, the hotels and the white sand. The whole thing is a proper climb; the site is big and vertical, and a sightseeing cart is effectively part of the experience.

The headline set pieces:

  • 过江龙索桥 — the famous 168-meter suspension bridge strung across a ravine, the park’s signature (and the film’s most iconic shot). It sways a little, and the view across the treetops toward the sea from its midpoint is the photo everyone comes for. There is a separate small fee.
  • 全海景玻璃栈道 — a glass walkway at about 450 metres’ altitude, with a transparent viewing platform that hangs out over the bay. Not for the faint-hearted, and one of the best adrenaline-and-view combinations in the region.
  • 山顶天街 and 龙雕广场 — the summit area, with a small shopping-and-café street and a plaza with a dragon sculpture that gives the widest 360-degree panorama of 亚龙湾. This is where you sit and watch the sunset.
  • 兰花谷 — a lush rainforest valley with orchids, streams and old vines, and the quietest part of the park.

There is also 鸟巢度假村 (the treehouse resort, covered elsewhere on this site) clinging to the cliff face, and the film’s 试婚房 villa which can be visited.

Practicalities

Tickets. The base package is ticket + return sightseeing cart, and this is the one to buy — walking the full mountain would be a punishing climb. The adult combined ticket is about ¥130–158 (roughly ¥158 in peak season October–April, a bit less off-peak), and it is cheaper online (about ¥130–158) than at the window (¥170). Concessions: 60–69 seniors, full-time students and 1.2–1.4 m children are roughly half price (¥95–110); children under 1.2 m and over-70 seniors get the mountain free and pay only for the cart.

The add-ons stack up, and they are optional but priced individually: the 过江龙索桥 (separate fee, some sources ¥20), the glass walkway (¥88–98), a rainforest “flying” water ride, and high-rope “flying slide” (sky zip) options. There are bundles that package several together (ticket + cart + bridge + glass + a meal) from about ¥188–368 depending on how many you add — if you want the bridge and the glass walkway, one of these will nearly always work out cheaper than paying line by line at the gate.

Do you need to book? Buy the base ticket online in advance. It is a real-name purchase and cheaper online than at the window, and it skips the ticket queue in peak season. Separate add-ons are bought at their individual points inside.

Opening hours. Around 08:00–18:30, with last entry at 17:30 (some sources cite last entry 16:00); the park runs a slightly extended summer season. Come before 9:00 or after 15:30 — the middle of the day is when the tour groups hit the bridge and the glass walkway, and the best light is early morning and late afternoon anyway. Some outdoor rides (the water ride) close for maintenance in some months, and the terraced paths shut after 16:00.

Getting there. Address: 三亚市吉阳区亚龙湾路亚龙湾国家旅游度假区 (within the resort area). Buses 15, 24, 25, 27, 30 and 115 stop at the 亚龙湾森林公园 stop; bus 27 from 三亚火车站 to the 亚龙湾公交枢纽 is the reliable one (about 40 minutes, ¥2–15). A taxi or ride-hail from Sanya city is about 40 minutes, from the 亚龙湾 station about 10–12 minutes, and the 亚龙湾 hotel strip is a short hop. There are four parking areas if you self-drive. Wear the trainers, not the heels — the paths are steep and uneven.

flowcloud would say that a mountain built for a film is still a mountain, and that the best view in Sanya is from up here looking down at a bay.
