Dieshi Huagu (叠石花谷, Diéshí Huāgǔ) is a 4A-rated (graded October 2022), 99-yuan-a-head site at Zhaying Village (扎营村), Banxi Town (板溪镇) — the county’s engineered landscape: stacked-stone layers (叠石层) set into a valley floor, flower seas (花海) planted over them, and intangible-heritage displays (非遗) worked into the paths. It is the county’s youngest major sight before Nanmuwan, and its honesty is in the name: the stones are stacked, the flowers are planted, and the valley is a composition.
The 叠石层 are the geology given frame — the valley’s stone exposed in layers and arranged as land art, a surface that photographs as pattern rather than scenery. The flowers are the seasonal layer over it, and the heritage element is the county’s own: the Tujia brocade (土家织锦) and craft traditions that the county sells as souvenirs get their display wall here. The site’s logic is the modern one — a valley turned into a composition for the camera, with the county’s craft as the content.
The site is the photograph: the stacked-stone grids read best from the raised paths, and the flower sea is a season, not a constant ⚠️ verify the bloom calendar before publishing. The heritage displays are the indoor half for weather. At 99 yuan it is the county’s priced-out sight, and the combination with the county seat’s other addresses makes it a half-day rather than a day.
